Interpause runs on an Intel Pentium Dual CPU E2160 @ 1.80Ghz with 2 Gigbytes of RAM and operates over a residential (4 Megabit down/800 kilobit up) fastpath DSL connection. Ubuntu 9.10 is the current OS and all files are protected from hard drive failure thanks to the Adaptec 31605 raid controller (RAID 1 for the OS and for files synced every hour to an undisclosed offsite location; RAID 6 for all other files). Soon, the OS will be upgraded to Ubunto 10.04 and all services will be migrated to a virtual machine to minimize recovery time (ie. downtime) in case of a hardware failure or upgrade.

In the coming months, the server will receive a significant and long overdue upgrade. First, the processor will be upgraded to one that supports hardware virtualization, specifically an Intel Celeron E3400. Then, to minimize recovery time (ie. downtime) in case of a hardware failure or upgrade, Ubuntu 10.04 64-bit will be installed onto a virtual machine. Hopefully by the summer of 2012, all services will be migrated over the the guest OS (ie. the virtual machine) so that the host OS can be upgraded as well. -[[User:Andrew|Andrew]] 02:23, 8 December 2011 (UTC)
